MAXIMIZER- People who are especially talented in the Maximizer theme focus on strengths as a way to stimulate personal and group excellence. They seek to transform something strong into something superb.

ADAPTABILITY- People who are especially talented in the Adaptability theme prefer to “go with the flow.” They tend to be “now” people who take things as they come and discover the future one day at a time.

HARMONY- People who are especially talented in the Harmony theme look for consensus. They don’t enjoy conflict; rather, they seek areas of agreement.

EMPATHY- People who are especially talented in the Empathy theme can sense the feelings of other people by imagining themselves in others’ lives or others’ situations.

CONNECTEDNESS- People who are especially talented in the Connectedness theme have faith in the links between all things. They believe there are few coincidences and that almost every event has a reason.

Born and raised in southern California, moved to Arizona six years ago. Married to Rosie a Crossfit Prescott member,  have four children, oldest Aaron 17, is a Crossfit Prescott teens member. Life-long sports enthusiast, lettered in four sports in high school; football, basketball, baseball, and track. Named to both all-league and all-county football teams as cornerback. Played two decades of  upper level softball in California after high school. Became a dedicated fitness enthusiast in late twenties, mostly long distance running and some weight training. Always was looking for something “more” as far as fitness was concerned, “collided” with Joey Powell three years ago at my old gym and what we affectionately called “the cage” and knew almost immediatley that CrossFit  Prescott’s Praxis Method of Strength and Conditioning was what I had been searching for all these years.

Why am I into CrossFit? It is the only thing that I have found that has produced the results I have looked for since “the glory days” of high school athletics. My core strength is the best I can remember. My endurance is for my age, elite. And what seperates Crossfit Prescott’s Praxis Method of Strength and Conditioning from other CrossFit boxes and non-crossfit workout gyms/mills is the attention to development before athletes are allowed to “go hard and fast”. Joey’s ability to work an individuals past and present injuries and limitations is unique. The community at Crossfit Prescott is also special, the people are what really make the experience so rewarding and fun, and at times entertaining!

As a trainer, learning from what I consider a master trainer in Joey, I am enjoying my experience working with the athletes. I learn as much from them as I learn from certifications, if not more because it is through application and experience that trainers are developed. I gain much satisfaction from watching people transform and enhance their health and fitness levels.

I have been certified by CrossFit as a Level 1 trainer, I am also proficient in both the zone diet and the paleo/primal system of nutrition.
