To me, the sign of a really excellent routine is one which places great demands on the athlete, yet produces progressive long-term improvement without soreness, injury or the athlete ever feeling thoroughly depleted. Any fool can create a program that is so demanding that it would virtually kill the toughest marine or hardiest of elite athletes, but not any fool can create a tough program that produces progress without unnecessary pain.”

After having done Crossfit for 4+ years at 3 different box's, I thought that I was in the best physical shape of my life. After spending a handful of months at Crossfit Prescott under the instruction of Joey, I realized that I was sadly mistaken. The first thing that he helped me improved on was my form, this took care of some minor pain/ issues I was having with my shoulder and knee. My PR's increased across the board, some more dramatically than others (deadlift from 300 to 350; muscle-ups from 2 sets of 3, to 3 sets of 10! Just for reference, I'm 5'3”, 135 lbs.). I also saw significant gains in the sports I did apart from Crossfit; my 2 mile run time decreased by almost 3 minutes, and my 500 yard swim went from 11 min to 8 min 30 sec, and I became a stronger biker. I was able to do this despite the fact that I actually cut back my training in those specific activities. What was so remarkable about my transformation was that I attained the aforementioned goals in a relatively short amount of time (about 6 months) while training less than I had at any other Crossfit I had previously attended (other Crossfits: 5-6 days a week; Crossfit Prescott: 3-4 days a week). I attribute this to Joey's ability to apply organized programing to Crossfit through his Praxis methodology. The results speak for themselves. Even though I am now living in Oregon, I still pester Joey for advice on my workout regimes, as I am preparing to attend Special Forces Assessment and Selection for the US Army with hopes of eventually becoming a Special Forces Medical Sergeant. With his continued guidance I am sure that this is yet another goal that I will surely be able to attain. SPC. Jay Reynolds A CO, 1st/ 19th SFG WAARNG
Good AM! I have a patient I'm going to be sending to you. She is a low back patient. I am going to see her for another 2 weeks, then I'm gonna send her to you. If you can, the PT patients I send, I would like you to spend time with them because that is what I am selling.... is your knowledge of exercise and that you will not put them in situation that will reinjure themselves.
I absolutely LOVE Crossfit Prescott! I have never been this passionate about ANY workout program like I am now. In addition to being a really great workout (that is A LOT of fun), the trainers are top notch, professional and really help ensure I'm injury free while getting great results. I always hated lifting weights at the gym because (1), I had no idea what I was doing, and (2) as a female, I always felt really awkward and intimidated around all those huge, muscular men who hog all the weights and machines. Anyone looking for the best place in Prescott to workout should check it out! www.crossfitprescott.com/ (No, I'm not paid to say this! I just think others should know about this great place!)
